This sculpture explores the idea of “Becoming” — the journey of rising into who we were always meant to be. The tattooed male figure, crowned and bearing a single wing, looks upward in confident triumph, embodying a man who has overcome choices and circumstances imposed by family, society, and expectation to become the man he — and God — know he can be.

The tattooed stars represent the idea that there are so many different ways to learn to become who we are meant to be, so hopeful and so worth pursuing. The painted mask represents the identities we hide until we find the courage to reveal our true selves. Sculpture gives physical form to transformation, layering symbols as reflections of a life shaped and refined through experience. I hope my sculpture inspires viewers to feel strength, renewal, and to find the courage to remove their own masks.
